Four miles outside Mossman, this rainforest lodge is perched above a river gorge on the edge of Daintree Rainforest National Park. Air-conditioned bungalows with hardwood floors are set in the trees or along the river; all have minibars, spa tubs, and balconies.

Complimentary at Silky Oaks: canoe trips, bike tours, and rainforest hikes set the stage for spa treatments that highlight indigenous therapies.

This rainforest lodge offers bungalow-style accommodations overlooking the Mossman River Gorge.

Surrounded by the lush landscape of the Daintree Rainforest National Park, it?s a peaceful retreat, yet only 20 minutes away from the shops, restaurants, and activities of Port Douglas.

Amenity highlights: With its ceiling fans and shuttered windows, the resort?s main lodge offers a classic tropical-Colonial ambience with an open-air restaurant, stylish lounge, and library with board games and reference books. Just outside, a lagoon-like pool surrounded by palms and boulders invites guests to swim or soak in a jungle setting, while a tennis court, mountain bikes, and canoes await those in search of more physical activities.

The resort is also home to the Healing Waters Spa, which combines native botanicals and centuries-old techniques in dozens of treatments designed to revive the body and energize the spirit. A variety of adventures around the region can also be arranged on site.

What can you do at Silky Oaks Lodge?

Guests can ride bikes, go canoeing or snorkeling on the river, and explore the local surroundings on guided rainforest hikes, all of which are complimentary. A rock-lined, lagoon-style swimming pool and tennis court lit for night play are on site, and the staff can help arrange activities from rainforest picnics to hot-air balloon rides to scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef.
The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.
